PRACTICE
AREAS
Employment Litigation
We represent employers in single plaintiff, multi-plaintiff and class action lawsuits, in both state and federal court, including employment discrimination, harassment, retaliation, failure to accommodate, leave of absence, wage and hour (including misclassification, meal and rest period, record-keeping and related claims), wrongful termination, breach of contract, trade secret, unfair competition, tort and other employment claims.
Advice and Counsel
Our experienced attorneys work with employers to develop policies and procedures tailored to their industry and company culture, and incorporating those policies and procedures into the employers’ written materials, including Employee Handbooks, Employment Contracts, Severance Agreements, Confidentiality Agreements, etc.
We provide employers with everyday guidance to ensure compliance with all Federal and California employment laws, including with regards to lay-offs, reductions in force, disability and family leaves of absence, wage and hour issues, and all written agreements between employers and employees. Our attorneys also draft executive employment agreements, personnel policies and procedures, arbitration, confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements and other employment documents.
Workplace Investigations
We conduct both internal investigations as well as investigations prompted by a government agency regarding allegations of discrimination, harassment and/or retaliation based on protected characteristics, as well as wage and hour allegations.
Human Resources Workplace Trainings
We help employers comply with California law by providing on-site training in various employment law areas, including wage and hour practices as well as the required 2 hours of interactive sexual harassment training to supervisors of employers with 5 or more employees. In addition, our attorneys provide specialized training on how to conduct effective investigations when an employee brings a complaint of harassment, discrimination and/or retaliation.
Our training sessions are aimed at providing comprehensive training to prevent claims against our clients. We specifically tailor our training materials to the industry and culture of each employer, including preparing all materials and delivering the trainings in Spanish when our client’s industry require it.
